The AIA Fort Lauderdale Chapter Education Committee strives to provide for the education needs of the Chapter’s Architect and Associate members. We offer several continuing education events free to our members each month. AIA members are required to complete 18 hours of continuing education each year. Paula is a Project Manager at CPZ Architects, Inc in Plantation, FL. , working on commercial, banking, and municipal projects. She has completed IDP and is currently taking the Architecture Registration Examinations.
Less than a year after graduating architecture school, Paula joined the AIA Fort Lauderdale Chapter. She quickly ascended to the role of Associate Board Member. She began by creating the chapter’s Architectural Registration Examination Study Group.
As Education Chairperson, Paula organizes monthly continuing education events for all chapter members and liaises with Florida Atlantic University’s AIAS Chapter.
Paula earned a Bachelor of Architecture from FAU in 2007 and now she serves as the School of Architecture Alumni Society Director. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Florida International University and is a Florida Certified and experienced History teacher.
Although she left the classroom in ’07 for a career in architecture, Paula continues to share her passion for history and architecture with local schools and as Historian and Schools Chairperson for the Captain Alexander Quarrier Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, in Hollywood, Florida.
